💭 One Thing We’re Thinking About

I find myself turning to more quiet and calm media over blockbusters — traditional media stresses me tf out 😵‍💫

With my anxiety levels reaching all time highs over the last few years, it’s undeniable how much my media choices affect my mood, outlook, and definitely my cortisol levels. Thus, I’ve found myself turning toward Slow TV as a regulation tool.

This week on the blog, Anna shares her ultimate guide to SlowTV.

👀 One Thing We’re Obsessed With

This week we’re coming at you with a recommendation from one of you — our Internet People!

Alicia K. gave us the hot tip to pair fiction podcasts with your most mundane and mindless tasks. She said, “The story keeps my brain stimulated, but it doesn’t take me away from the task I need to focus and complete.”

Fresh Air Podcast:
Internet Brain & the Age of Overthinking (49 min)

Fresh Air is the OG of Interview Podcasts, and it’s always interesting. This week, we’re sharing a recent episode with one of the new hosts who digs in with Amanda Montell about her new book The Age of Magical Overthinking. This episode is fascinating, a bit confronting and we’re just blown away by how smart and eloquent Amanda is.

Montell’s new book argues that, “in the modern information age, our brain’s coping mechanisms have been overloaded and irrationality is dialed up to an eleven.” …sound familiar? 🤪

We both just got our hands on the book, so we’ll be back with Spacetime’s official review soon!
